50k members and Two years of Voice of DHA
I still remember people calling us foolish during the first 3 – 4 months of VOD, and now when rain water came inside their home, they were the first one to call us for help. I want to thank all these people who didn’t support us, you just made us stronger. From facing courts to police stations, what a journey it’s been! Some battles were won, others were lost. And as we look forward to fighting the ones that await us, at least we tried to make a difference and not sit back home.
Posts approval & member requests
We as group Admins & Moderators put great time to filter each and every post posted on the group. As I’m writing this, the group might have crossed the 50k figure or would do so. We have rejected almost 40k profiles to-date. To maintain a discipline of the group, we have to check every profile and post very closely so apologies if you’re friends & families never got accepted on the group. Please note, the admins & moderators are entitled to deny entry and decline any post of any member.
On 11th July (the first spell of the rain), we approved 778 posts out of 3,281 posts we received. Posts approval has always been issue here, our team will always prioritize emergency posts first. A request from our un-named team of Moderators that please don’t bring you domestic and internal issues here.
Spam & report to Admins
Nothing against any race, religion, culture, and strictly no religion discussions, trolling on the group. We all hate spam & thankfully, there is a simple way to deal with it: on the upper right hand corner of a spam post please click on “Report to admin” and someone on the admin team of this group will handle it. Lastly, admins are humans too and they can also make mistakes.
Many members have reported that there are certain pages who are using screenshots of our group posts on their public pages and public posts. We would like to remind them this is invading our member’s privacy. We will be reporting such pages on Facebook immediately from now on. You can read our disclaimer and privacy notice below:

Collaborations
We want to thank all stakeholders of DHA & Clifton like Sindh Police, Shell, Optix, StormFiber and K-Electric for hearing to all the feedback of the members of Voice of DHA (residents of DHA & Clifton). We are now working with few non-profit organizations like Off-road Club to rescue rain victims & FGRF – a part of Dawat-e-Islami who drained water out of basements of the resident as part of their disaster management.
Awareness & Community building
In these two years, we learnt that majority of the residents have actually no information of the police stations, associations and committees which are present in their area. The platform is providing that awareness through posts and content posted every day. We thank you for trusting us.
CBC elections
We are actually very proud of how we covered the CBC elections back in August 2021 because the residents didn’t even know who a councilor is, what ward / area he looks after and what are the core responsibilities of an area councilor. A political figure who we met recently said the same there isn’t such a platform in the country who discusses all sort of issues of residents. Some of the political parties used the space very well during the elections, as they announced their candidate on Voice of DHA first.
Flood relief & VOD
Our country is going through a terrible time and it’s our responsibility to do our part. We have more than 500+ posts pending just for the flood help, but we can’t approve posts of everyone asking for funds because we cannot take the responsibility of them being genuine. In the next few days, we will be covering all the flood relief camps by Saylani, Al-Khidmat, BaitusSalam, FGRF and individuals who we can trust & who are verified. If you’re affiliated with an organization, please drop us a message with all the information and one of us will contact you.
Today, VOD is a community based group, run by the community. The members are the one providing the group with posts, pictures and the related content. It wouldn’t have been possible without few un-named well-wishers who supported us during these two years. I think, VOD has made us better humans. From meeting our forces, welfares to animal activists, we saw the other side of the society. Thank you to all of you. And, in the end, humari koi aur branch nahi! Team Voice of DHA
