Thank you for making this protest successful! YOU, YOU, YOU will make things happen in DHA. This protest was a peaceful protest which took place today (31st August 2020) at CBC Rahat, Phase 6 at 12 p.m.
The heroes of today: Unnamed citizens of DHA, DIG South Javed Akbar Riaz (who was very friendly and helpful), police constables (who handled the protest) and lastly, the Media for their coverage.
I hope I didn’t miss anyone.
Highlights
of today:
1. Around 1,000+ protesters gathered outside CBC office with banners. We even noticed senior citizens showing up at the protest.
2. As we entered the CBC through their gate, we requested the police officials to let us in the CBC building so that we can speak to the President of CBC.
3. Later, around 7 to 10 of our unnamed DHA citizens were allowed in. They had a long discussion in the meeting room, vidoes already uploaded on the group.
4. At the end of the day, CBC officials refused to sign the document (which they already agreed to before) and was giving us a general letter on which our terms were mentioned. We refused to take this letter because it wasn’t printed on CBC’s letter head nor had signature of their heads.
The unfortunate events that happened today which shouldn’t have happened:
1. Few flower pots were broken and we take no responsibility of it. We asked all fellow members that this is going to be a peaceful protest. I will personally gift more pots to CBC if they want me to, lets make DHA green
.
2. Few politicians came to join the protest who were pushed and mistreated by few. Yes, we as a group don’t want any political involvement in our cause. We don’t encourage disrespecting any individual, organization or institutions be it Army/Judiciary!
3. We do not encourage any hate speeches. We have seen many videos of citizens saying inappropriate words against certain sects, race and ethnicity. Please understand that we can’t control anyone’s tongue!
So whats next? ![]()
Peaceful protests won’t stop, as this was just the beginning. We are satisfied with the numbers of today’s protest as most us had a working day, some sadly were still stuck in pumping water out of their homes and some didn’t have internet / network. Follow any WhatsApp or Facebook Groups you want to! We will be limiting posts in here, controlling the comments section and much more.
Next protest? ![]()
It’s on Thursday, the 3rd September at DHA Phase 1 Office.
Who is leading this campaign? ![]()
YOU
Note: We want to keep this a non-controversial group. Everyone has a point of view, we understand that and respect that but please lets keep it simple. We are DHA residents who have all joined for a cause, so lets focus on that. Peace ![]()
